About the Greenfield Fire Protection District

The Greenfield Fire Protection District (GFPD) is a special district that provides fire protection and prevention services to the unincorporated area around the City of Greenfield. GFPD was formed in 1940. On July 1, 2018, the City of Greenfield assumed control of fire protection and began contracting with the GFPD to provide fire protection and prevention services to unincorporated areas surrounding the City of Greenfield. The GFPD still exists as a public entity and is overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of three elected officials.

About the Board

The District Board of Directors is currently composed of 3 members who are elected to 4-year terms. If there are no candidates, or if the number of candidates equals the number of eligible seats, the County Board of Supervisors will appoint Directors.
