The Planning Commission consists of 5 members who reside within the corporate limits of the City of Greenfield, and are not otherwise officials or employees of the City. Planning Commissioners serve 3 year terms and are appointed and serve at the pleasure of the City Council.
Responsibilities
The Planning Commission is responsible for the following land use responsibilities:
Exercise other powers and duties as prescribed by State law, local ordinance, or as directed by the City Council
Hear and decide appeals of the Planning Director's decisions
Hear and decide applications for minor subdivisions, tentative parcel maps, conditional use permits, variances and design review
Hear and make recommendations to the City Council on amendments to the Zoning Ordinance
Hear and make recommendations to the City Council on applications for:
Annexations
Boundary adjustments
Development agreements
General plan amendments
Major subdivisions
Pre-zoning
Specific plans and planning areas
Initiate studies of amendments to the Zoning Code or General Plan
