Planning Commission


About the Board

The Planning Commission consists of 5 members who reside within the corporate limits of the City of Greenfield, and are not otherwise officials or employees of the City. Planning Commissioners serve a 3 year term and are appointed by the City Council.

Responsibilities

The Planning Commission is responsible for the following land use responsibilities:
  • Exercise other powers and duties as prescribed by State law, local ordinance, or as directed by the City Council
  • Hear and decide appeals of the Planning Director's decisions
  • Hear and decide applications for minor subdivisions, tentative parcel maps, conditional use permits, variances and design review
  • Hear and make recommendations to the City Council on amendments to the Zoning Ordinance
  • Hear and make recommendations to the City Council on applications for:
    • Annexations
    • Boundary adjustments
    • Development agreements
    • General plan amendments
    • Major subdivisions
    • Pre-zoning
    • Specific plans and planning areas
  • Initiate studies of amendments to the Zoning Code or General Plan
