The Capital Projects Fund was established for the portion of 2006 Bond
proceeds that have been designated for certain redevelopment activities
within and of benefit to the project area. The funds are held by the
fiscal agent until such time as they are requested to be withdrawn for
use.
Proposed Projects
Pending Oversight
Board approval and debt service satisfaction, proposed fiscal year 2016
projects include $300,000 for the construction of a north and south
entrance sign on El Camino Real (the City's primary downtown commercial
corridor) and minor improvements to the north and south welcome signage
on U.S. 101; $1,000,000 for constructing street-scaping improvements
along El Camino Real and $200,000 for finishing the South end shell in
the Police Department formerly planned to house a jail and holding
facility. In fiscal year 2017, $300,000 is included for additional
street-scape projects along El Camino Real that have not yet be
identified.
Bond Official Statement
The bond official statement indicates these proceeds are to be used for activities that include, but are not limited to, the following:
Community Center
Construction of Memorial Hall and the purchase of land for public parking
Expansion of the police department facility
Improvements to streets including pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and landscaped medians
Miscellaneous public park improvements throughout the Project Area
Miscellaneous public works projects throughout the Project Area
North end of El Camino Real: sidewalks, curb and gutter, and landscaping
North entrance to the City: landscaping, new entrance sign and other improvements
Purchase of land for public parking at the new police facility
Purchase right of way (school property) for the Walnut Street expansion
